BACK TO THE 80s – PUMA RS-0 sneaker and SEGA Sonic the Hedgehog come together

Calling all gamers and sneaker fans!
Remember the past partnerships between Nike x Playstation and adidas x Dragon Ball? Well, this year’s trend for sneaker collections teaming up with cool games just keeps going. And June of this year will see the launch of the PUMA x SEGA RS-0 Sonic Edition, with its design influenced by the cult game Sonic the Hedgehog.

The classic PUMA RS-0 running-shoe model from the 1980s is seeking a reboot through the partnership with SEGA. And of course Sonic himself, who is able to run faster than the speed of sound, is the perfect mascot for the line of running shoes.

And even though so far only a pixelated image of the shoe has been doing the rounds on the net, you can clearly make out the colour combination of blue, red, green and yellow. The colour scheme is clearly heavily influenced by the animated character. Although the precise design cannot yet be made out, it appears to be reminiscent of Sonic’s very own running shoes.

Stay tuned and make sure you don’t miss any updates on the new PUMA Sonic Sneaker! Keep your eyes peeled in June because only a limited collection will be available. It’s not yet known whether there will be any further collaborations between SEGA and PUMA.

Even if Sonic tries to avoid water in the game, that doesn’t mean you need to do the same with your own sneakers. EMPIRE products provide perfect protection from water as well as post-run odours 😉
