Things are still buzzing on the sneaker scene. As we know, it’s usually adidas and Nike who engage in a constant game of ping-pong with their new releases. This time, however, this October will see Converse getting back into the game. Last week brought the official confirmation that a new collaboration with the cult brand Off-White is in the offing. So far the first pictures have been revealed via @py_rates on Instagram, but nothing yet has been said about a precise release timescale.
Rumours started circulating as early as June, when a Converse rep mentioned the possibility of working with Off-White again. Then, when the first pictures emerged, it quickly became apparent that all the brand’s fans can look forward to another real firecracker! This time, Off-White have put the transparent upper material we saw in May’s collaboration to one side and are putting their stamp on the traditional Chuck 70.
The pictures show a white canvas upper material with the traditional Off-White stamp on the medial sides of the shoes. The black-and-white stripes of the midsole also reflect the classic Off-White look. Of course, another essential feature is the zip-tie, which here comes in a red-orange tone. Off-White have since also officially confirmed that the partnership is being continued. All we need now is a precise date for the release. We were originally told the start of October, and 8 October is looking likely as a potential date. Be sure to stay on the ball, because Empire will update you as soon as we can about all dates, raffles and prizes.
