The Nike Kyrie 4 by Kyrie Irving is one of the most attractive basketball collaborations on the big wide sneaker market. In the past we’ve seen imaginative colourways brought to life by designer Benjamin Nethongkome and the entire Nike basketball team – naturally always in close collaboration with the point guard of the Boston Celtics, who also lends his name to the model.
The newest incarnation is now the Kyrie 4, which will come in a Halloween-themed jet-black featuring rage-green details. This green makes its way on to the soles, the Kyrie tongue logo and the Swoosh. The dripping slime effect on the Swoosh creates a look that is reminiscent of the classic Goosebumps book series. These sneakers are sure to turn a few heads at Halloween time. It will come as no surprise to learn that they are already highly coveted. On their release tomorrow – 13 October – they will retail for around $120.
With the release happening in the USA, it won’t be easy for us Europeans to come by a pair. Mobilise any contacts you have who live in the States, or look out for true sneakerheads who are familiar with e.g. “reshipping” processes 😉
